Daniel J. Bearns, 69, of Las Vegas, Nev., died May 26, 2022, at his home following a long illness.
Dan was born on April 6, 1953, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to James and Rita (Kiley) Bearns.
Dan graduated from LaSalle High School and Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Dan went on to earn his BSN from Texas University. He spent the majority of his 50-year career in nursing working with patients in home health care and hospice. Dan proudly served in the United States Navy.
Dan is survived by his mother, Rita Bearns, spouse, Ferdie Gacula; siblings, Tom Bearns and Mary Bearns of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Pat (Tom) Arp, Fairfax, Iowa, Jim (Karen) Bearns, Dublin, Ohio, and Anne (John) Himmelsbach, Norway, Iowa, and niece and nephews, Katie, Chad, Eric, Chris and Nick.
Dan was preceded in death by his father, James Bearns; brother, Mark Bearns; and nephew, Mark Himmelsbach.
