Donald Dick Beavers, 88, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Monday, June 6, 2022, at UnityPoint-St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Celebration of Life: 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2022, at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood in Cedar Rapids. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Don was born July 6, 1933, in Leon, Iowa, the son of Lester and Mildred (Meyers) Beavers. He was united in marriage to Jerry Colleen Stotts in Corydon, Iowa, in 1954. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He was a union ironworker for Ironworkers Union Local #89. Don was a member of the Masons, Shriners, Elks and Moose Lodge, and a lifetime member the VFW Post #788. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and watching Iowa Hawkeye Football.
Survivors include his children, Ron and Mike Beavers, Linda Whitters and Peggy Eiben; as well as many grand- and great-grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge or VFW Post 788.
