I was fortunate to be represented at the state Capitol l for many years by Rob Hogg and was saddened when he announced last year he would not be seeking re-election. Therefore, I was so pleased when Molly Donahue announced she would run in the newly formed district. Her experience in the Statehouse the past four years has more than prepared her to take on the role of senator.
Molly is a hard worker and listens, especially when it concerns children and ensuring they have the best education system possible. A seasoned educator, Molly has fought hard for increased funding in the public schools as the decline of Iowa's standing in education should be unacceptable to any self-respecting Iowan. A vote for Molly means a continued investment in education and the first step toward stopping the "brain drain" from our state.
Given recent resignations of teachers in the state, we need Molly Donahue back in Des Moines more than ever. Let's send Molly to the Senate, but first Molly needs your vote in the primary on June 7.
