MARION — Mike Manderscheid crossed his fingers, literally.
The Marion High School athletics director is hopeful that its new on-campus football facility will be ready for action in time for the Wolves’ home finale Oct. 21.
The facility will include artificial turf and an eight-lane track, all of which, plus lights, are yet to be installed.
After a year at Linn-Mar Stadium, Marion will be back at Thomas Park Field this season until the on-campus facility is ready.
The field, currently named Marion Stadium, will seat 2,000.
