Robert Wayne Mallory passed away surrounded by family in the Custom Care Unit at The Meth-Wick Community, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on May 21, 2022. The family held a private funeral on May 25 at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
He was known by all as "Bob." He was a man of great faith in Jesus and dedicated his life to serving God, his country and his family. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1947-1950. He married Audrey Davis on Nov. 1, 1948, and together they had seven children whom they raised mostly in Sorento and Decatur, Ill. Bob and Audrey moved to Springfield, Ill., later in life, where they owned and operated The Kitchen Bath and Cabinet Co. until they retired.
He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn (York) Mallory; six children, Roger Mallory (Janet) of Maroa, Ill., Brenda Creviston (Dean) of Lovington, Ill., Sheila Bullard (Larry) of Lubbock, Texas, Mary Purcell (Bill) of Surprise, Ariz., Ann Roehrkasse (Don) of Hiawatha, Iowa, and Phyllis Hill of Goodyear, Ariz.; two brothers, Charles Mallory of Indiapolis, Ind., and Donald Mallory of Denver, Colo.; and one sister, Jean Kipp of Keenesburg, Colo. Bob had 21 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and eight great,-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey (Davis) Mallory; daughter, Virginia Collis; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Wilson; his mother and father, two sisters and one brother.
Bob was born in Brush, Colo., on March 19, 1929. He and his words of wisdom, poetry and "Bobisms" will be greatly missed by his friends and family. He was an amazing woodworker, talented drummer, Biblical teacher and served on numerous church boards. Bob was known for his devotion as a husband, father and friend.
