MARILYN PISCH

Marilyn Pisch, 80, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Friday, May 20, 2022, at her home. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa. A funeral Mass will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Burial will follow at Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion.
Marilyn was born July 22, 1941, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., the daughter of Joseph and Helen (Kofchak) Johnston. She was a graduate of Meyers High School in Wilkes-Barre and went on to attend the nursing program at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. Marilyn worked as a nurse at a physician's office. She later worked at Sears for 11 years. Marilyn was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and volunteered with Aid to Women. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marilyn enjoyed baking, walking, shopping, being active, watching the Hallmark Channel, and playing Dominos and Skip-Bo. Marilyn loved her cats and feeding the birds and squirrels. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Marilyn is survived and lovingly remembered by her seven children, Emil (Sandy) Pisch of Nashport, Ohio Helen Pisch of Marion, Marilyn "Tina" (Kirk) Stout of Marion, Beth Pisch of Marion, Joseph (Nancy Miller) Pisch of North Liberty, Iowa, Judy (Bill) Randall of Cedar Rapids, and Brian (Kathryn) Pisch of Blairstown, Iowa; 10 grandchildren, Nicole, Kevin, Marcus, Tyler, Kirk Jr., Jason, William, Shelby, Alex, and Anna; and six great-grandchildren, Elyon, Koa, Wyatt, Saige, Daxtyn and Nyles.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Joseph Johnston.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Marilyn's memory may be directed to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
