MARILYN JANE LENT

Marilyn Jane Lent of Coralville, Iowa, passed away Monday, May 9, 2022, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.
Marilyn was born Jan. 21, 1948, in Anamosa, to Garry Matthiessen and Louise Young Matthiessen.
Marilyn went to Anamosa high school and later got her GED from Kirkwood, at the age of 30.
Marilyn worked for Rockwell Collins for over 30 years and retired five years ago.
Marilyn hobbies included making flowers arrangements and as she called it puttering around outside.
Her main hobby and most loved was her family, friends, children, grandchildren and especially her great-grandchildren.
Marilyn is survived by her brother, Garry (Marry) Matthiessen and sister, Marie (Dave)Waggoner, both from Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her two children, Tammy Lent of Coralville and Thomas (Loreen) Lent of Anamosa; her grandson, Joey (Dawn) Lent of Cedar Rapids; her eight great-grandchildren, Aliyah, Kyran, Ivy, Kaydan, Nova, Arrow, Ellis and Daemon; also, her nieces and nephews, Teresa Lindley, Rani and Vicente Javier, Randy and Joni Matthiessen, Darin Matthiessen, Dawn Jellison, Donna and Dustin Paulos, Debbie Waggoner and Doug Wagonner. As well as 17 great-nieces and
-nephews and 12 great-great-nieces and -nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her father, Garry and mother, Louise; a great-granddaughter, Zelda; and a nephew she loved with her whole heart, Thomas Lindley.
Funeral will be held at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories on Saturday, May 21, at 2 p.m., with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. until service time. Moms' favorite color was purple, if you would like to add some purple to what you wear, that would be great. Also dress casual that's the way mom wanted it. There will be a celebration after at Thomas Park, bring a covered dish, chairs and your drinks. We will provide all the dinnerware.
