Darlyne is survived by two sons, Russell and Jim Perry; daughter, Janet (Greg) Robertson, all of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Eugene (Jan) Sande of Lyndon Station, Wis.; sister, LaVonne "Bonnie" Syverson of Decorah; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; daughter, Jean Hill; parents, Sam and Jeanette Sande; grandson, Michael Robertson; and great-granddaughter, Kylee Cagle.
Darlyne was born June 8, 1931, in Decorah, the daughter of Selmer "Sam" and Jeannette Haugen Sande. She graduated from Decorah High School. On June 22, 1952, she married Wayne Perry in Decorah. Wayne passed away in 2016. Darlyne's first job was as a manager for Montgomery Wards in Decorah. She then worked full time for many years as a bookkeeper/office manager until her retirement in 2001.
Darlyne enjoyed playing cards, baking, spending time in her garden and shopping, especially for shoes. She was an excellent planner and planned many family trips to see the Iowa Hawkeyes play in big sporting events such as the Rose Bowl and many basketball tournaments. Darlyne and Wayne also cherished the memories of an African Safari they took in 2005, where they hunted big game. Darlyne was very social and welcomed everyone to her home for holidays and family functions. She was strong in her faith and was a devoted member of First Lutheran Church.
