Rhea LeRette Van Bogart, 82, of Cedar Rapids, passed away early Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Heritage Specialty Care. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, at the Center Point United Methodist Church, with Pastor Andrew Happ officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Papich-Kuba Funeral Service is serving the family.
Rhea is survived by her siblings, Dottis (Jim) LaGrange, Rhonda (Randy) Stallman, Delvin "Butch" (Heather) Van Bogart, Kent Van Bogart, Kim (Bart) Gingrich and Darcy (Pete) Oates. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Ruthann Van Bogart; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Mavis (Radloff) Van Bogart; brothers, Dennis and Randy Van Bogart; and nephews, Brett and Hunter Van Bogart.
Rhea was born May 26, 1939, in Sanborn, Iowa, and was a 1957 graduate of Fayette High School. She moved to Cedar Rapids from Fayette, Iowa, in 1959. Rhea had worked as a clerk in the pharmacy department at May's Drug Store for 20 years. She later worked as a waitress at Killian's Tea Room, Kacere's Cafe, and then Little Bohemia Restaurant and Tavern.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Evergreen Estates and Heritage Specialty Care for the loving care they gave to Rhea.
Memorial donations may be given to Care Initiatives Hospice.
