SHELLY RUPRECHT
Toddville
It is with profound sadness that the family of Shelly Ruprecht announces her peaceful passing at the age of 55, on the evening of Friday, April 29, Arbor Day, after a short battle with cancer. She had loving family by her side.
By most, Shelly was best known for her high standards when it came to cleaning, rearranging and decorating. Frugal by nature, and loving a great bargain, thriftstore shopping was a true passion. A rural girl at heart, at the end of the day,
dirt under her fingernails and solitude were her best days. Her quick wit and sense of humor, while sometimes inappropriate was always hilarious.
Shelly found great solace in being at home, drinking coffee, tending to her flowerbeds and caring for animals. A nurturer by nature, Shelly was a mother to both people and animals alike. No matter a person's station in life, anyone showing her mutual respect warranted her friendship. She gave as much of herself as she could to those around her and ended all conversations and visits with "just love ya."
Shelly's greatest pride and joy in life was having grandchildren, who simply adored their "Honey." To her kids, she was "Mom," and to her siblings, as well as her nieces and nephews (who were just like her own kids), she was "CC."
Shelly is survived and will forever be lovingly remembered and cherished by her husband and best friend, Monte; her sons, Mitchell (Amanda) Ruprecht, Myles Ruprecht and Randal Funchess; her daughter, Riley (Brandon) Hackman, four grandchildren, Olivia, Gavin, Aubrey and Vivian (who Shelly was so proud to be named after her own grandmother); her mother, Joanna Bellach; her stepmother, Normal Cress; and siblings, Jennifer (David) Slife, Jason (Marti) Bellach, Sandra (Jeff) Ahrendsen, Jill Hopkins and Jeff (Jill) Hopkins. Shelly was known and adored as "CC" by her nieces and nephews, Libby and Anna Slife, Brea Windfield, Dylan and Cole Bellach (to Cole, she was "CC Mama"), Lucas and Samantha Ahrendsen, Paige Aossey and Sidney Avenarius; as well as several great-nieces and a great-nephew. She is also survived by her father-in-law, Gar Ruprecht; mother-in-law, Marilyn Baird; sisters-in-law, Abby Trusty (Bob), Holly (Scott) Niernberger Baird and Heidi (Jeff) Kaufman; brother-in-law, Steve (Christine) Meeker; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who were as close as family.
Shelly was preceded in death by her father, Howard Cress; her step-father, Larry Bellach; mother-in-law, Nancy Ruprecht; father-in-law, Griz Kruckenberg; her paternal grandparents, Carl Cress and Vivian Cress Infield, and Cora Bellach; and maternal grandparents, Glenn Pound and Nora Marilyn Buresh. We know without question they all welcomed her as she crossed over.
Shelly's family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all of her Mercy family, the friends she made while working there, the medical staff who worked so hard to heal her, and the hospice staff who gave her such tender care as she prepared for the next part of her journey.
Our lives will never be the same without her.
Per her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. Shelly was cremated and wished for her ashes to be split among family and placed in her flower bed. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a Celebration of Life is scheduled.
