Norma J. Fitz, 91, of Marion passed away on May 4, 2022. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Norma was born on April 30, 1931, in Arlington, Iowa. She graduated from Arlington High School and Upper Iowa University. She worked as a teacher for Marion Independent Schools for 30 years before retiring in 1991. Norma was a life member of the I.S.E.A. and a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Marion. Norma was an avid quilter who also enjoyed traveling, camping and playing golf.
She is survived by her children, Thomas (Patty) Chester and Susan (Jeff) Tritle; as well as a large extended family.
Norma was preceded in death by her first husband, James Chester; second husband, Max Fitz; and daughter, Diane Chester.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Norma's memory to Camp Courageous or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
