James Roe Kirkpatrick, 71, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Friday, April 29, 2022. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 15, at The Flamingo Event Center, 1211 Ellis Blvd. NW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Jimmy was born March 21, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Roe and Dorothy (Jandik) Kirkpatrick. He graduated from Jefferson High School, Class of 1969. Jimmy worked for the Carpenters Union Local 308. He married Donna Woods on March 1, 1993, in Cedar Rapids. Jimmy enjoyed fishing and spending time with special friends at Rumors Bar & Grill.
Survivors include his brother, Karl (Shari) Kirkpatrick of Iowa City; sisters, Patty (John) McCormick of California and Helen (Ray) McNaught of Afton, Iowa; nephews, Ty and Andy McCormick and Bill Bowen; brother-in-law, Pete (Kat) Woods of North Carolina; and special friend, Cheryl Reding.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna, in 2019; parents, Roe and Dorothy Kirkpatrick; nephew, Doug Bowen; and brother-in-law, David Bowen.
The family would like to extend an extra special thank-you to "sister" Cheryl Reding for everything she did for Jimmy K. and Donna.
