Sandra Lee Rierson, 77, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be held at this time for both Sandra and her husband, David L. "Monty" Rierson, who passed away Aug. 30, 2020. Visitation: 4 to

7 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2022,

at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Funeral service: 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Baker Cemetery on Ely Rd. SW, in Cedar Rapids.

Sandra was born on Aug. 10, 1944, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Ronald and Arlene (Johnson) Sauer. She graduated from Prairie High School. Sandra was united in marriage to David L. "Monty" Rierson on Aug. 25, 1962, at Salem United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids where they were both proud members. Sandra worked for Rockwell Collins for 40 years as an inspector until she retired in 2001. She was a perfect example of God's unconditional love.

Survivors include her daughter, Teresa (Steve) Thompson; grandchildren, Monica (Mitchell) Sortland and Joseph Thompson (Niki Tripp); great-grandchildren, Hanna, Maverick, Raelynn, Sophia, Jazlynn, Oakliey, Lennon and Laikliey; sisters, Judy, Sharon and Kathy; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Monty Rierson; parents, Ronald and Arlene Sauer; sons, Jeffrey and Ronald; siblings, Connie, Penny, Lauraetta, Newton, Larry and Rhonda; nephew, Scott Ruhsur; and brother/sisters-in-law.
