Samantha Arlene Hughes, 31, passed away on April 25, 2022, at her home from natural causes.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Antioch Christian Church, Marion, Iowa, on Friday, April 29, at 12:30 p.m. with lunch served immediately following the service.
Samantha was born Dec. 2, 1990, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Leonard Hughes and June (Anderson) Hughes. Samantha attended Benton Community schools, then graduated from Metro High School (Cedar Rapids) in 2011 and worked several years at Infinity and other call centers.
She was a good mother, daughter, sister and friend. Samantha's favorite vacation spot was Medora, N.D., where they enjoyed camping, horseback riding and the Medora Musical for many years.
She is survived by daughter, Rylee Comstock-Hughes; mother, June Anderson; grandmother, Arlene Anderson; sister, Victoria Hughes Clime; brother, David Hughes; special friend, Jared Robertson; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Hughes; grandfathers, Fred Anderson and Arling Hughes; and grandmother, Arlene Hughes.
