Biden was playing politics with Judge Jackson

I find it so ironic that in The Gazette’s editorial condemning Grassley’s vote for the Supreme Court nominee you state that the situation smells like pure politics. I’m sorry but does it not also smell of pure politics when the president states from the get-go that he will only select and consider a Black female?
I’m not saying that Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson isn’t fully qualified and worthy, but why narrow the selection field of candidates to a certain gender and race? Why not look at all qualified individuals and give everyone an equal chance?
The president was also playing pure politics when he stated exactly what he was going to do. He was appealing to get the vote. Politicians are all the same they play to whoever to accomplish their goals and get themselves in office.
I think the time has come when we do away with political parties and possibly there wouldn’t be all these power struggles.
