JACQUELYN "JACKIE" NORRIS
Cedar Rapids
Jacquelyn "Jackie" Norris, 76, of Cedar Rapids, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, April 10, 2022, in Iowa City following a brief illness.
Jackie was born Jan. 20, 1946, in Cedar Rapids, to Paul and Norma (Voeltz) Gluesing. Jackie met the love of her life in a dance hall and married, Alan Edward Norris, on Sept. 5, 1965, in Van Horne, Iowa.
Jackie made her family the center of everything she did. Later in life, she found she enjoyed traveling. It didn't matter if those she loved lived in Iowa, Illinois, New York or Florida, distance couldn't keep Jackie from her family. Closer to home, Jackie doted on her pets and enjoyed spending time with her sisters.
Jackie had a special knack for creating phrases that her loved ones believe should be part of everyone's vocabulary.
Left to carry on her memory are her children, Scott (Melinda) Norris, Kristen (Ralph Webster) Norris, Nicole (Adam) Mullinnix and foster daughter, Becky Brown; eight grandchildren, Jessie, Kyle, David, Kaylie, Danielle, Alec, Skylar and Zachary; two great-grandchildren, Kaizley and Konor; and sisters, Karmen Kimm and Paulette Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; and grandson, Jason.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 15, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at Hope Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery-Chapel Garden.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dogs Forever, 809 Rockford Rd. SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404, in Jackie's honor.
Online condolences may be left at www.cedarmemorial.com under obituaries.
