CEDAR RAPIDS — The Cedar Rapids Civil Rights Commission is launching its 7th Annual Fair Housing Art Contest. Students will compete in four grade groups: K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12.
Theme: The theme of the 2022 competition is “Growing Community” and artists should depict its meaning using an approved art form. (Poster for grades K-8 and Spoken Word or Written Poetry for grades 9-12) Questions for students to consider include what community means to them, and why it is important for communities to be welcoming and diverse in order to grow.
