URSULA MARGARET TEGGATZ (PARROTT)
Iowa City
Ursula Margaret Teggatz (Parrott) passed away April 5, 2022, of natural causes.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 10, at Lensing Funeral Home in Iowa City. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 11, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Iowa City. Interment will immediately follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
She is now with her one and only loving husband, Loren at the pearly gates of heaven.
Ursula was born in Iowa City, Iowa, on Jan. 16, 1936, to Charles and Anna (Newman) Parrott. She had eight brothers, Charles, Steven, Robert, Herman, Joe, Donald, Ken and Leo; and three sisters, Anna, Henriette and Celeste.
Ursula graduated from Iowa City High School and received her nursing degree at Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. Ursula married Loren Gene Teggatz in 1959 and they had four children: Roxann, Renee, Ross and Rex. She also was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother to 10.
In addition to nursing and private practice care, she served in the Steven Ministries and volunteered at Mercy and University of Iowa Hospitals under the guidance of Rev. Harold Scheer. Ursula was passionate about wildlife and gardening. Each year Ursula would bring out the Easter lilies. She asked to let all her family, friends and acquaintances know that "Christ has risen, He has risen indeed!" Mom you will be missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics Pastoral Services or to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be shared at www.lensingfuneral.com.
