Jean Ann Pounds, 73, of Marengo, passed away April 2, 2022, at home.
Jean Ann Olson was born Sept. 29, 1948, the daughter of Russell and Marvel Olson of rural Marengo. Jean graduated from Iowa Valley High School in 1966. Jean was a nurse at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids for over 30 years.
Jean is survived by her son, Dewayne of Marengo; grandchildren, Coleton (Lizzie), Conroy and Meghan Schulte (Derek), Marengo; great-grandchildren, Brody, Harper and Jameson; sisters, Marsha Roberts (Larry) and Nancy Olson; nephew, Todd Roberts (Janelle); and niece, Sheila Sayers (Justin).
Jean was preceded in death by her parents.
There will be a private family burial at First Lutheran Church ELCA, Marengo.
Jean will be remembered for her quiet, loving and compassionate way in all she did. She will be greatly missed. Her sister, Nancy, spent the last several years as her caregiver.
