Marco’s Island now open in Iowa City

Mar. 30, 2022 6:00 am
IOWA CITY — Marco’s Island, a new restaurant from Marco’s Grilled Cheese owner Mark Paterno, brings a tropically-twisted menu to Iowa City.
There, diners can find a mix of Caribbean island-themed cocktails, seafood appetizers like coconut shrimp and lobster quesadillas, and entrees like salmon burgers, jerk chicken and shrimp tacos.
The new restaurant opened Feb. 19 after delays for a number of months — it started posting photos of its new space in February 2021. Paterno took over the space around March 2019, according to the Daily Iowan.
It currently has limited hours from 5:30 p.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday at 121 N. Linn St.
