Kim Randal Schroeder, 69, of Cedar Rapids, passed
away at University of Iowa Hospital on Thursday, March 17, 2022, after a brief illness.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at Union Station Extension in Cedar Rapids.
Kim was born on Sept. 15, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Donald and Jeanette (Curtis) Schroeder.
Kim is survived by son, Cody Schroeder; granddaughter, Chandler Schroeder; grandsons, Camden Schroeder and Casey Schroeder of Cedar Rapids; brother, Kirk (Sara) Schroeder of Longville, Minn.; sister, Jennifer (Kevin) Lyons of Cedar Rapids; brother, David Schroeder of Cedar Rapids; nephews, Andrew (Brandy) Schroeder, Bryce Schroeder, Reece Suckow, Logan Schroeder and Adam Lyons; niece, Allison Lyons; as well as other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Tim; and his sister, Lori.
Kim was a 1970 graduate of Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids and attended Clinton Community College. Over the course of his career, Kim drove for FedEx and Conway Freight, and worked for West Side Transport. Early on he tended bar for the Union Station.
Kim enjoyed fishing, golf, disc golf and Minnesota lake vacations with family. In his younger years, he was active in Kung Fu and soccer. Kim was a fan of NASCAR and Iowa Hawkeye sports and enjoyed music. He will be remembered for his fun-loving nature.
