PATRICIA ANN RANDALL (BERSTLER)
Iowa City
Patricia Ann Randall (Berstler), 79, of Iowa City, passed peacefully on March 14, 2022, surrounded by family at Legacy Gardens, Iowa City.
Pat was born Aug. 29, 1942, to Thomas and Cheryl Berstler of Fort Madison, Iowa. She graduated valedictorian from Fort Madison High school, enrolled in the University of Iowa Nursing Program, and met and married David Randall, her loving husband of 57 years. After completing her RN degree, Pat began her nursing career at the University of Iowa Hospital. She earned her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner degree while working as a school nurse, and then enjoyed caring for children during her tenure with the Johnson County Department of Health's Pediatric Wellness Clinics.
Pat was a voracious reader, enjoyed the challenge of crossword puzzles, treasured going to the theater and adored spending time with her horse. Above all else, she loved caring for her grandchildren and hosting family gatherings with David in their home.
Pat is survived by her husband, David; four children, Teresa Turner, Tim Randall (Barbara), Shelly Hull (Michael) and Joseph Randall (Amanda); six grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and another expected in May; and her brother, Dr. Michael Berstler (Deborah and their two children).
Pat was preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. March 19, at Gay & Ciha Funeral Services, 2720 Muscatine Ave., Iowa City, Iowa. The family would like to thank the University of Iowa Diabetic Clinic and the staff at Legacy Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Fraternal Order of Eagles' Diabetes Research Fund at www.foe.com/Charities/Donate. Online condolences may be shared at www.gayandciha.com.
