Randy J. Williams 63, of Camanche, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at his home. Per Randy's wishes, cremation rites have occurred. The family will hold a celebration of life later in the year. Online condolences may be left at https://papefh.com.

Randy's life was filled with family, friends, hard work, train photography and the railroad. From a career that spanned 40 years with the Chicago Northwestern and the Union Pacific to rail fan trips for his photography hobby that landed some magazine covers, he had a wonderfully good life.

Randy is survived by wife, Kathy; stepson, Daniel (Brittny) Stone Phoenix, Ariz.; brother, Gay (Deb) Williams of Lisbon; niece, Amber Williams (Jeff) and children, Colton, Ava and Garret Weaver of Wilton; nephews, Eric (Parisa) Williams of Fairfax and Tim Williams of Hiawatha; and brother-in law, Eric Baur (Katie, Jason and Rebecca) of Boston, Mass. Also surviving are cousins, David and Barry Beadle of Cedar Rapids; and other family members; good friends, Mary James, Camanche, Iowa, Wayne and Janet Walters of Port Byron, Ill.; and the gang of rail photographers, all friends who feel like family are among those that are left to honor Randy.

Randy's life is not defined by the past couple years filled with health issues, but on the merits of a life of a family who loved him, his mindset on doing the right thing, passion for photographing trains and always having rescue dogs as part of the family.

We wish to say a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Jad Masri, Dr. Scott Sherman and the entire staff at the University of Iowa Bettendorf Cancer Clinic for all their support, patience and care. Heartfelt thank you to Brittney and the Mercy One Hospice Care team for their guidance and support. Thank you also to the Camanche Fire Department from the beginning to the end.
