Wanda "Marlene" Falconer, 77, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. A graveside service and inurnment will take place at
1 p.m. Friday, March 18, at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Marlene was born on Dec. 10, 1944, in Ryan, Iowa, the daughter of Douglas "Wayne" and Viola (Wilson) Falconer. She graduated from Coggon High School. She worked for Millhiser Smith for many years before retiring.
Marlene was always an upbeat and positive person, known for her fortitude and resiliency. She was known to always keep a smile on her face even through her toughest times. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, socializing and spending time with family and close friends. She was a longtime resident of Indian Creek Apartments and loved her community there.
Marlene is survived by her brother, Roger (Linda) Falconer; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Falconer and Kay Merritt; nephews, Dave (Joy) Falconer, Jeff (Lisa) Falconer and Adam (Jessica) Falconer; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friends, Mark and Lisa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Virgil, Wilbur, Robert and Niles; and nephew, Joshua Falconer.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Hall-Perrine Cancer Center.
