Memorial services for Patricia L. Lee, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, with the Lee family, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, March 13, at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 6621 C. Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids. Inurnment will take place at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Patricia was born Nov. 6, 1930, in Iowa City, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wesley Thomas (Margaret-Bam). As a young woman, with three sisters and four brothers, Patricia was very athletic. Patricia was a professional figure skater, cheerleader at Roosevelt High School and also sang in the AME Church choir.
Patricia married "Sunny" Roy Bill Lee Sr. and had her first child, Roy Jr., in 1948. Family always was important to her. Patricia said, "If she had problems with anyone, it was because of her sickness and to please forgive her." Patricia worked for 30 years and three years at IVP in Waterloo, Iowa. She then moved to Vancouver, Wash., and then San Diego, Calif., to live with her son, Randy D. Lee.
Patricia will be greatly missed by her children, Roy Jr. (Judy) of Minneapolis, Minn., and Randy (Rhia-Gloria) of San Diego, Calif.; sister, Shirley Thomas; brother, Donny Thomas of Waterloo, Iowa; sister, Alice Thomas of Seattle, Wash.; six grandchildren, Shane, Lamont, Ruben, Rosa, Ranice and Rhia-Rolanda; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family greatly extends their appreciation and thanks to the staff and residents of Windsor Gardens of San Diego Nursing and Rehabilitation and Rejuvenate Hospice for the loving care given to Patricia.
Memorials may be made to Alcor Life Extension Foundation, c/o Randy D. Lee, Scottsdale, Ariz.
