DONNA J. CANNON

Donna J. Cannon, 75, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. Private family services will be held at a later date. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids assisted the family.
Donna was born on Dec. 8, 1946, near Frankville, Iowa, the daughter of John and Irma (Hesse) Van Wey. She graduated from Postville High School. On Sept. 23, 1968, Donna was united in marriage to John J. Cannon in Huntsville, Ala. She retired from The University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics as a unit clerk in the NICU. Previously Donna worked at Rockwell Collins and Wilson's Meatpacking in Cedar Rapids. Donna was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and a member of the Cedar Valley Congregation.
Donna enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She will be remembered by family and friends as a wife and a mother. Donna will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her daughter, Anita Cannon of Cedar Rapids; brothers, Robert (Linda) Van Wey of Marion, Iowa, Clarence Van Wey of Joplin, Mo., and Donald Van Wey of Monona, Iowa; sister-in-law, Mary Beason of Marion; brother-in-law, Lynn Cannon of Fayette, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; husband, John, in 2003; daughter, Chris A. Cannon, in 2014; brothers, Jimmy, Richard and Art Van Wey; sister, Sandy Van Wey; brothers-in-law, Frank, David and Roger Cannon; and sister-in-law, Donna Gerhart.
