Dona Jean Wensel, 63, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.
Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Monday, March 7, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, with the Rev. Greg Bahl officiating. Burial will be held in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the church on Monday.
Survivors include her daughters, Angela (Shane) Shelton of Vinton, Amanda (Bo) Deaton of Fort Smith, Ark., Amy (Rich) Rilling of Vinton and Ashley Wensel of Center Point; former husband, Richard Wensel of Center Point; grandchildren, Jacob, Logan, Lilly, Sira, Devon, Jordan, Audriana, Cole and Joseph; and great-grandchildren, Brylan, Zaiden, Dakota and Nevaeh.
Dona was preceded in death by her parents and half-brother, Max Basemann.
Dona Jean Basemann was born Nov. 18, 1958, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Roger and Mary (Gearhart) Basemann. She was a barber in Cedar Rapids for over 30 years. Dona loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, was an avid Harley rider and enthusiast.
She will be greatly missed by all who loved and
knew her.
