Connie Lake, 75, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, in McAllen, Texas.
Connie was born May 15, 1946, in Galesburg, Ill., the daughter of Nyle and Marjorie (Slead) Jones. She graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1964. Connie was united in marriage to Dean Lake on April 8, 1982, in Cedar Rapids. Connie worked for Quaker Oats and Pepsi Co. in Cedar Rapids for 28 years. After retiring, Connie and Dean would escape the cold and spend their winters in south Texas. She enjoyed growing flowers, playing cards, painting ceramics and crafts of all kinds. Connie loved spending time with her family, friends and dogs. She will be deeply missed by anyone who knew her.
Connie is survived by her husband of 40 years, Dean A. Lake of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Tina Triggiani (Steven) Smith of Indianapolis, Ind.; two grandchildren, Jacob Smith and Jessica Smith, both of Indianapolis, Ind.; brother Kenton (Tracy) of Parnell; nephews Kyle Jones and Trent Jones; and extended family in Iowa, Illinois and Indiana.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona. Burial will be in the Wellman Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service on Saturday. www.powellfuneralhomes.com
