LINDA JEAN (SCHMITZ) DUNHAM

Linda Jean (Schmitz) Dunham, 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Urbana, with Father Jim Brokman as Celebrant. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Phillips Family Center, 605 Second Ave., in Vinton. Interment will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, at Greenwood Cemetery in Masonville.
Linda was born on Jan. 3, 1950, in Independence, the daughter of Theodore "Ted" and Wilma (Fay) Schmitz. She graduated from Urbana High School, with the class of 1968.
Linda was united in marriage to Terry Dunham on May 15, 1976. Linda worked in administration for AT&T for over 35 years, in California, Cedar Rapids, Oklahoma, Kansas City and Atlanta. Linda enjoyed NASCAR, No. 97 Chad Little was her favorite driver. She was also a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan. Linda also enjoyed crafts, making Christmas ornaments and rag rugs were here specialty. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and spending as much time with them as she could. She was also a wonderful aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her four children, David Dunham of Manchester, Steve Dunham of Cedar Rapids, Wayne Dunham of Vinton and Nicole Litterer; seven grandchildren, Jacob Dunham, Theodore Dunham, Nathaniel Van Pelt-Dunham, Darick Dunham, Sydney Litterer, Benjamin Litterer and Faith Litterer; brother, Keith (Nancy) Schmitz of Urbana; two sisters, Judy (Jim) Dolan of Clermont and Joan (Keith) Zieser of Vinton; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Terry; her son, Michael Dunham; and three sisters, Karen Carter, Nancy Schmitz and Mary Anne Carmody.
