For the first time this season, Iowa is in Associated Press’ men’s basketball Top 25.
The Hawkeyes are 25th in AP’s new weekly rankings, marking their first appearance in the poll since they were No. 8 in the final rankings of last season.
Iowa (18-8) beat then-No. 18 Ohio State 75-62 in Columbus Saturday. The Buckeyes are 22nd in the new poll.
One of the teams the Hawkeyes climbed over was Michigan State, which plays at Iowa Tuesday night. MSU was 19th last week, but then lost to Penn State and Illinois.
Iowa was ranked ahead of Michigan State by the narrowest of margins. The Hawkeyes had 59 points in the poll, the Spartans 58.
