What do Iowans value, gambling or education?

Iowa legislators are considering whether or not to increase funding for public education to about $3.6 billion for next year, which would be $300 million a month. During January, $300 million was spent on sports gambling in Iowa. So, does this mean that Iowans put the same value on the possibility of instant gratification, i.e. gambling, as they do on their children and grandchildren achieving productive, satisfying futures? Tell me it ain’t so.
