RON S. FRENCH
Roselle, Ill.
Ron S. French, 75, of Roselle, Ill., formerly of Marion, Iowa, passed away Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022, after a brief illness.
Ron was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, July 17, 1946, to Dale E. and Frances French of Springville, Iowa. After graduating from Springville High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps where he worked on airplane electronics. He served in Vietnam before receiving an honorable discharge. Ron was united in marriage June 5, 1971, to Irene Kray of Marion, Iowa. He loved spending time with his granddaughters, his pride and joy, teaching them to fish, playing catch and laughing with them. He enjoyed fishing, bicycling, boating and airplanes. He also liked spending time with his brother in laws, boating, fishing and doing mechanical work.
Ron is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Irene French; son, Tony French, Roselle, Ill.; daughter-in-law, Brooke French (Jason French), Denver, Colo.; and three granddaughters, Lily, Ella and Claire. Also survived by sisters, Sherry Nebel and Ricky Machula; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jason French (Brooke French); daughter-in-law, Colleen French (Tony French); and his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at the American Legion, 625 31st St., Marion, Iowa.
