Frances M. Orris, 78, of Oelwein, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022, at Oelwein Health Care Center. There will be no services. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids assisted the family.
Frances was born Feb. 20, 1943, in Oelwein, the daughter of Samuel and Marie (Bratten) Shields. She married Tom Orris and worked for the Social Security office. Frances enjoyed knitting, cooking, gardening and spending time with her beloved cats.
Survivors include her sisters, Helen Schroedermeier of Oelwein and Mary Lou Maranda of St. Paul, Minn.; and niece and nephew, Denice Jackson and Dave Gilson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom; and brothers, Lloyd and Dwayne Shields.
