Loretta Mae (Reeve) Prostine, 92, of Marion, Iowa, passed away at the Terrace Glen Nursing Home.
A public visitation will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories on Tuesday, Feb. 15, from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m., with Pastor Troy Weigert officiating. A livestream of the service will be available on the Cedar Memorial website under Loretta's obituary under the video tab, starting on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 11 a.m. Interment at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery-Garden of Tranquility.
Loretta was born on July 20, 1929, in Cromwell, Iowa. She was the daughter of the late Artie and Stella (Brown) Reeve. On Nov. 17, 1951, Loretta married the love of her life, Robert Ulrick Prostine. She earned a Bachelor's degree in primary education from the Iowa State Teacher's College in Cedar Falls. Loretta worked as a teacher for many years both in the Public and Christian school districts. She was a member of Blair Ridge Baptist Church, and was an active member of AWANA, the Hawkeye Alumni Club and the National Rifle Association.
Those left to cherish Loretta's memories are her children, Don (Mary) Prostine of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Dave (Michele) Prostine of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her grandchildren, Ben (Dana Scheffen) Prostine, Emma Prostine and Lee Prostine; her sister, Mary Lou Foster, of West Lafayette, Ind.; and many nieces and nephews.
Loretta was preceded in death by her husband; her daughter, Bev Prostine; her parents; and a brother, Lyle Reeve.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Terrace Glen and Hospice of Mercy, for all the love and support they showed Loretta while she was in their care.
