Shelly McGurk joined Mercy Cardiothoracic and Vascular Clinic as a nurse practitioner.

Promotions
Dahm, Knapp and Associates in Hiawatha promoted Brandon Richey to manager.
Jim Smith has been promoted to chief operating officer at NRG Media. Smith was chief financial officer for the past 14 months.
Board members
TRAIL of Johnson County, a not-for-profit whose mission is to help older adults successfully age in place, has named Terri Larson, Lepic-Kroeger Realtors, as chairwoman; and as board members Lesanne Fliehler, retired, to its communications committee; Bob Reynolds, retired; and Lisa Steigleder, Mercy Hospital Foundation.
Junior Achievement of Eastern Iowa appoint new members to its Cedar Rapids area board Glen Jasper, Eco Lips Inc., as president; Ryan Hamilton, ESP International, vice president; Kenyon Murray, Henry Schein Dental; and Robert Waters, General Mills. Joining its Cedar Valley board are Rachel Evans, Hawkeye Community College, and Shawna Matz, Veridian Credit Union. Joining its Iowa City board is Ben Tvedte, Titan Health Management Solutions.
National League of Cities appointed Cedar Rapids City Council member Ashley Vanorny to the 2022 Community and Economic Development Federal Advocacy Committee.

Three UnityPoint Health leaders were named to the Becker’s Hospital Review 113 Great Leaders in Healthcare list: Clay Holderman, UnityPoint Health president and CEO: Doug Watson, UnityPoint Health senior vice president and CFO; and Michelle Niermann, UnityPoint Heath-St. Luke’s Hospital president and CEO.
Alliant Energy was acknowledged as a “Top Utility” by Business Facilities magazine. In 2021, Alliant partnered with community and state economic development professionals on 58 industrial and warehouse projects in Iowa and Wisconsin.
