SUZANNE RAAP-FEATHERSTON
Des Moines
Suzanne Raap-Featherston, 76, passed away with family by her side on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, following a short illness. At Suzanne's request, a Celebration of Life "party" for friends and family in honor of Suzanne will be held on Feb. 19, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 1 to 4 p.m. Eulogies will begin at 2:30 p.m.
Suzanne was born in Millersburg, Iowa, on April 28, 1945, to Harry and Mary Agnew. She attended beauty school in Cedar Rapids, opened her first hair salon in her 20s and continued owning and operating hair salons (Suzanne's and Kid's Kuts) until she retired. She lived in Cedar Rapids for 30 years before settling in Packwood, Iowa. She moved to Texas after her children left the home. She retired from doing hair at 76 years old in Brownwood, Texas, before moving back to Iowa to be closer to family.
In her little free time she raised rabbits, alpacas and numerous plants and flowers. Suzanne had an extremely warm and friendly personality. She filled every room she was in with her joyous smile, silly humor and laughter. In conversation, she loved to compliment others and was especially generous with gifts to anyone she met. She was a loving and sacrificial mother. Although Suzanne is no longer with us, she will never be forgotten. Her spirit lives boldly within her eight adoring children.
Suzanne is survived by her children, Mike (Kristin), Mary SuAnn (A.J.), Sarah (Brian), John (Jayme), Renae (Brent), Brian (Stacy), Mary Catherine (Matthew) and Megan (Chad); 17 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mary Agnew; her sister, Charlotte Pingel; and brother, John Agnew.
Online condolences can be left at www.cedarmemorial.com. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Suzanne's memory to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
