1. Iowa, coming off a 71-59 home win over Minnesota Sunday, is trying for a season sweep of Maryland. The Hawkeyes beat the Terrapins 80-75 in Iowa City on Jan. 3 after trailing 40-36 at halftime. Keegan Murray scored 35 points for Iowa.
2. Maryland has lost its last three games, the latest an 82-67 decision at Ohio State Sunday. The Terps are 6-9 under interim coach Danny Manning. They were 100th in the NCAA’s NET rankings entering Tuesday’s games. Iowa was 22nd.
3. Iowa won at Maryland last year, 89-67. The Hawkeyes had a 20-0 second-half run after trailing 19-9. Connor McCaffery had a career-high 10 assists for the Hawkeyes. Joe Toussaint had a career-high six steals.
4. In three games at Maryland, Iowa’s Jordan Bohannon has made 19 of 29 3-pointers and averaged 19.7 points.
5. Maryland has finished in third place or better in four of the last seven Big Ten seasons, including a shared title in 2020. From 2004-05 through 2014-15, they finished fifth or better in the ACC just twice.
