Shirley Jean Rittgers, 87,
of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022, at Mercy Medical Center. Services: private. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Shirley was born Feb. 7, 1934, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Leona (Kinzey) Arnold. She married David W. Rittgers on June 14, 1955, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She worked at Rockwell Collins for 20-plus years. Shirley loved and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed camping, bingo, latch hook, Wheel of Fortune, playing cards and dominoes. Shirley loved her pet dog, cat and fish.
Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis (Ron) Pomeroy; sisters, Joanie Doe, Linda Brody and Janice Anold; her grandchildren, Melinda (Eric) Rickels, Amber (Chris) Hatch, Jennifer (Brandon) Michael and Julie Dyer; and five great-grandchildren.
