Donna Alice (Rich) Pickering, 82, passed away

Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022, at the Lutheran Home in Vinton, Iowa. Family will greet friends and family from

12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service located at 3855 Katz Dr., Marion, Iowa. Funeral services will

be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Stephen Preus officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion.

Donna was born on April 17, 1939, in Linn County, Iowa, to Melvin and Alice (Vahl) Rich. She was employed with Rockwell-Collins for 35 years. After retiring Donna took a part-time job at Sears. If she wasn't working you could normally find her spending time with her grandkids, at the local fishing hole, mushrooming or just out walking to enjoy the outdoors. She also enjoyed going to the Iowa State Fair every year and would often be at her local fairgrounds for the races on Sunday. Donna was married to Larry Pickering for 24 years before he passed away in April of 2021. She always enjoyed planning family get togethers. Donna will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Donna is survived and lovingly remembered by her children, William (Teresa) Bailey and Renee Bailey, both of Vinton, Iowa; sister, Elaine Willie of Vinton; three stepchildren, Trace (Kim) Pickering, Tara (Ryan) Kohen and Tiffany (Joe) Moore; five grandchildren, Tammy (Larry) Lawrence of Monticello, Iowa, Amanda (Gary) Hamor of Oelwein, Iowa, Calvin (Amber) Bailey of Mechanicville, Iowa, Brian (Jill) Kuhn of Urbana, Iowa, and Joshua Bailey of Vinton; nine step-grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Donna was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; husband, Larry Pickering; one son, Robbie Bailey; brother, Ed Rich; two sisters, Ruthann Sickles and Dorothy Bragg; one grandson, Jimmy Kuhn; and one great-grandson, Damiean Hamor.
