Chris Fry of South Daytona, Fla., passed away Jan. 20, 2022, losing her courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at Lensing's Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Service, 210 Holiday Rd., Coralville, Iowa. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Williamsburg. Instead of flowers, please send memorials to Attention: Ann Viscomi at Halifax Health Hospice, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
Attendees must take all of the following COVID-19 precautions. Mask will be available.
Born July 6, 1944, in Sigourney, Iowa, the daughter of John and Doris (Miller) Fry. Chris graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1962. She also enrolled in the Nursing Program at Kirkwood Community College. She was employed as a medical transcriptionist at UIHC for 35 years. After moving to Monterey, California, she worked as a transcriptionist for another 10 years at California Insurance Group.
Chris enjoyed all sports, bowling, country music, word puzzles, her dogs and reading.
She is survived by her life partner, Valerie Nelson; her brother, James (Glenna) Fry, nieces, Julie (Rob) Fell and Crystal Frausto (Ricky); nephews, Martin (Barb) Fry and David (Joy) Fry; and many great- and great-great-relatives.
Chris was preceded in death by her parents; three siblings, David Murray Fry, John Keith Fry and Roderick Wesley Fry; and a nephew, Stephen James Fry.
She leaves behind many wonderful friends in Iowa and in her travels across the United States. Roy and Goldie Kent, nonagenarians in New Hampshire, were a blessing to us.
