Marvin Lee Grout, 87, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 1,
2022, at Living Center West Nursing Home. A visitation will be held from 12:15 to
1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel
of Memories. A funeral service will start at 1 p.m. following the visitation.
Marvin was born on Aug. 31, 1934, to Ray and Ella (Richards) Grout. He graduated from Tingley High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. He married Janice Jean Pearson on July 3, 1970, in Marion, Iowa. He worked as computer operator at Rockwell Collins for over 30 years.
He enjoyed landscaping, potting plants and spending time outdoors. Marvin was often described as having a green thumb. When he wasn't outside, he enjoyed going to the casino. He cherished the time he spent with his wife, and his family.
Marvin is survived by his children, Mark (Tammy) Graybill and Paige Grout; grandchildren, Chris, Stephanie and Kayla; siblings, Dale Grout, Ronald Grout and Ruth Hoy; along with many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Janice Grout; his son, Thomas Grout; his parents; and his siblings, Donald Grout, Harold Grout and Charles Grout.
