Elda Miller, 89, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022. A memorial service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 7, at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood in Cedar Rapids. A luncheon will immediately follow the service at The Legacy Center. Burial will be held at a later date at Shiloh Cemetery in Hiawatha, Iowa.
Elda was born July 10, 1932, in Scott County, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Amanda (Holst) Woods. She graduated from high school and went on to attend Coe College and obtain her bachelor's degree in teaching from the Iowa State Teachers College. On June 26, 1956, Elda married Richard "Dick" Miller at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She worked as a schoolteacher for College Community Schools for 41 years.
Elda is survived by 17 nieces and nephews, including Donna Becker of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Amanda Woods; husband, Dick Miller, in 2012; and brother, Roscoe Woods.
