Robert Jeffery Matthews passed away at 70 years old in the Hospice Unit in the Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022. He lived all around the world in his youth and loved to tell stories about his travels. He settled down in the Cedar Rapids area to raise his family and was living in Marion when he passed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Wilt Matthews; his wife, Marcella Matthews; and his twin brother, Michael Matthews.
He is survived by his mother, Marjorie Matthews; his brother, Stewart Matthews; his sister, Anna Matthews; his daughter, Miranda Matthews-Chadima, son-in-law, Arik Chadima; his daughter, Cassandra Matthews-Ebrecht, son-in-law Cody Ebrecht; stepgranddaughter, Star Ebrecht; and his daughter, Ally Matthews.
The Community Baptist Church of Marion will be handling his Celebration of Life ceremony on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022.
