Barb Holtz, 88, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, Jan. 24, 2022. Private family services will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church by the Rev. Mark Murphy, with burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Teahen Funeral Home is assisting Barb's family.
Barb was born Aug. 13, 1933, to William and Fanny Broxey and grew up in the Palo area. She married Gerald Holtz on Oct. 16, 1954. Barb and Gerald lived many years in Winthrop before moving to Cedar Rapids.
Barb is survived by her two sons, Jerry (Cindy) Holtz of Urbana and Ron (Christa) Holtz of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; and
11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Holtz.
Barb loved fishing, watching ball games, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes with friends and camping with the family. She also enjoyed gardening and helping Gerald with woodworking that they would make for craft shows.
