Bruce Allen DeBow, 58, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2022, from a short battle of pancreatic cancer in St Luke's Hospital.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Shawn DeBow; two older sons, Joseph (Ann-Jalene) Debow of Marion, Iowa, and Jordon (Layla) DeBow of Cedar Rapids; three younger sons, Cain, Malik and Sryus Debow, all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and his brother, Larry DeBow of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Maximus, Connor and Adalynn DeBow, Roman and Wyatt DeBow; and many nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Gary and Ronald DeBow.
Bruce was born March 12, 1963, in Marion, Iowa, the son of Albert and Margaret (Shaffner) DeBow. He was a true Christian and loved to talk to people about anything and everything. He had the best sense of humor and made everyone around him laugh and feel better about life. Bruce loved to deer hunt with friends up north, fishing, gardening and relaxing around the fire. His favorite thing to do was watching his three younger boys compete in wrestling tournaments.
Bruce was employed as a wastewater treatment technician at PMX for 30 years. He also was a cryogenic reanimation research scientist.
A special thanks to Mark Rodriquez for working every night and calling Bruce every night to inform him what was going on at work. A special Thanks to Byron Ellis for visiting him in the hospital every day.
Bruce had so many amazing friends and will be greatly missed.
