DIXIE LEE (MAIDEN) MORSCH

Dixie Lee (Maiden) Morsch died at the age of 84 on Jan. 11, 2022, in Tempe, Ariz., after a short illness.
Dixie is survived by her husband, Jerry; four children, Brad, Strongsville, Ohio, Theresa (Dan) Hering, Bloomington, Ill., Roger (Mitsi), Chandler, Ariz., and Lois (Mitch) Moncel, Maricopa, Ariz.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild and one on the way. Also surviving is her sister, June Smothers, Martelle, Iowa.
Dixie was preceded in death by brothers, Merle and Delmer; and sister, Irene.
Dixie was born on July 16, 1937, in Martelle, Iowa, to Ira and Erma Maiden. Dixie graduated from Martelle High School before moving to Hinckley, Ill., where she met Jerry. They were married on Aug. 26, 1956, in Martelle, Iowa.
Dixie was very proud of her upholstery, antiques and refinishing business (Dixie's Little Bit) in Sheldon, Ill. Dixie always enjoyed playing bridge with all her girlfriends and golf with her husband. She had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing in the church choir.
Dixie and Jerry retired to Citrus Gardens in Mesa, Ariz., and most recently at Clarendale of Chandler.
No services are planned. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to a homeless shelter of your choosing.
Valley of the Sun Funeral Home in Chandler, Ariz., is in charge of arrangements.
