Donald B. Janish Jr., 73, died on Jan. 15, 2022, at the Iowa Veteran's Home, Marshalltown, after a long illness. A private family burial will take placed at a later date; per Don's request, there will not be a funeral. Arrangements by Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Marion.
Don is survived by his wife, Ronda Spilger-Janish; children, Michael Janish, Emily Janish and Zach Janish; sister, Carole E. Wilson; nieces, Dawn Wilson and Cherie Wilson; stepdaughters, Heather (Greg) Gill, Heidi Cochran, Holly Cochran and Amanda (Matt) Grace; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was born March 19, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, to Donald B. Sr. and Evelyn M. (Wood) Janish. Don was a Vietnam veteran in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving from 1967-71.
He was preceded in death by his son, David A. Janish, on April 11, 2016; brother, David W. Janish, killed in action Feb. 22, 1970, in Vietnam; parents, Donald B. and Evelyn M. Janish; and brother-in-law, John P. Wilson, in 1994.
