Robert Lee Staton, 78, of Onalaska, Wis., formerly of Marion, Iowa, passed away at the Gundersen-Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, Wis., surrounded by his loving family.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel Stateroom. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, with the Certified Celebrant Randy Walton officiating. Interment to follow at the Cedar Memorial Garden of Eternal Love.
Robert was born on Sept. 5, 1943, in Masonville, Iowa. He was the son of the late Joseph and Zeneta (Sauer) Staton. On July 30, 1963, Robert married Donna Thompson in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Robert enjoyed camping as well being able to fix anything that was broken. He loved his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to cherish Robert's memory are his wife, Donna of Onalaska, Wis; his daughter-in-law, Theresa Staton; his son, Scott (Doreen) Staton of Onalaska, Wis; his grandchildren, Crystal (Ben) Douthart, Kayla, Tabitha and Taylor Staton; and his great-grandchildren, Gracie Ann, Khalesi and Halley Douthart; his siblings, Cloey Nickerson of Winthrop, Iowa, David Staton of Marion, Iowa, Cleta Martin of Michigan, Gail Coleson of Ely, Iowa, Gary Staton of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Keith Staton of Woodward, Iowa, Le Roy Staton of Dunkerton, Iowa, Zeta Nieman of Manchester, Iowa, Don Staton of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Terry Staton of Oelwein, Iowa.
Robert was preceded in death by his son, Robert Leland Staton; his parents; his brothers, Frank, Junior, and Billy Staton; and an infant sister.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
