Frankie Joseph Nekola, 88, of rural Toledo, passed away Monday, Jan. 10, 2022, at UnityPoint-Marshalltown. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, Jan. 17, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Father Michael McAndrew as celebrant. Interment will follow at National Cemetery in rural Vining. Visitation will be held Sunday, Jan. 16, 2022, from 3 to 6 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Frankie is survived by his loving wife Marce of 68 years; his children, sons Randy (Cheryl) Nekola, Howell, Mich., Gary Nekola, Chelsea, Danny (Dawn) Nekola, Tama, and daughter Cindy Nekola Williams, Toledo; 10 grandchildren, Megan (Mike) Chumbley, East Lansing, Mich., Haley (David) Holbrook, Durand, Mich., Treye (Heather) Nekola, Ankeny, Ashley Nekola Slinkard, McCordsville, Ind., Darah (Tony) Bolen, Charleston, S.C., Benjamin (Rena) Nekola, Brighton, Mich., Ciara (Brian) Nienhaus, McCordsville, Ind., Derek Nekola, Montour, Tara Williams, Fenton, Mich., and Kari Williams, Lansing, Mich.; 19 great-grandchildren, Savannah, Caroline, William and Max Chumbley, Austin, Caden, David and Alex Holbrook, all of Michgan; Harper, Hazel and Hunter Nekola, Ankeny; Carter, Noelle and Parker Slinkard, Indiana; Maverick and Lilah Bolen, South Carolina; Jaxson Sonny Frank Nekola, Michigan; and Sullivan and Dawson Nienhaus, Ind.
