Janice Ann Conway, 81, of Troy Mills, Iowa, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022, surrounded by her family.
Jan "Janny" was born June 24, 1940, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Edwin and Berniece Powell. She was a 1958 graduate of Troy Mills High School, where she met her husband, David Conway. They were married on April 9, 1960. Their love endured through many trials and joys proving the committed and faithful love they shared for 61 years. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Jan was "one-of-a-kind" and had a vibrant, fun personality with a great sense of humor. Making a grand entrance wherever she went, she was the life of the party. She never missed an opportunity to laugh, make new friends or shop. She will always be remembered for playing the piano, dancing, knitting, hooking (rug hooking that is) and decorating her beautiful home. She loved her family deeply and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband, David Conway of Troy Mills, Iowa; a brother, John Powell (Merry) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a daughter, Jill Mohwinkle (Steve Beland) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a daughter, Alissa Perez (Rafael) of Wichita Falls, Texas; a special daughter, Susan Myers (Scott) of Wichita Falls, Texas; her grandchildren, Cameron, Clayton and Christopher Mohwinkle of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Gavin, Annabella and Cruz Perez of Wichita Falls, Texas, Levi Myers (Rachel) of Lubbock, Texas, Caleb Myers (Amy) and Jacob Myers of Wichita Falls, Texas; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherri Conway; her parents and a brother.
A visitation will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Her memorial service will be from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 15, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with Pastor James Wolf officiating. There will be a lunch reception immediately following. A livestream of the service will be available on the Cedar Memorial website under the obituary for Janny, under the video tab, starting at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15. Burial will be at the Troy Mills Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
